This is My PBC

This is My PBC is a disease awareness campaign developed and funded by Ipsen. Getting to know your PBC can help you to take charge of your PBC journey. By understanding your own condition, your own biochemistry, your symptoms and how PBC affects you, you will have more influence on your daily quality of life.

Everyone’s PBC experience is different, and therefore knowledge of your PBC is power. Know your ALP numbers, talk openly about your symptoms and speak with your doctor, to ensure that your care plan works for you.

What is This is My PBC?

This is My PBC seeks to raise awareness of the need for people living with PBC to know more about their disease and understand that everyone’s experience is different – and valid.

By taking a personalised approach to your disease management, you can empower yourself with the knowledge you need in order to have meaningful conversations with your doctor, to play an active role in your PBC care and to live your life without limitations. You may be unique, but you are not alone.

Hear from real experiences of PBC

Jo, Gill and Wendy live with PBC. Although they share the same disease, their journey of living with, and managing PBC, has been personal to them and, therefore, individual to them.

Click on the bitesize videos below to hear about their individual experiences, and understand how you can take charge of your own PBC journey by learning more about the condition and talking openly with your doctor.

What happens when I understand better This is My PBC?

You can help paint a clearer picture of what it is like to live with PBC and help make choices that are right for you such as:

Knowing how your symptoms make you feel. Keep an eye on your symptoms between doctor’s appointments and keep a list of topics to discuss with your doctor next time you see them.

Know your ALP numbers and what they mean for you. As your doctors questions about your ALP and bilirubin levels, and they mean for your liver health.

This is my PBC will continue to share more educational materials and helpful resources so keep an eye on this page.
