Our trustees come from all walks of life but have one big thing in common – they all want to make a difference to the lives of people affected by PBC. Read more about each of them.
Jane Thomas
Jane was first diagnosed with PBC in August 1996 and registered as a patient to join the Foundation four months later. Jane had her first liver transplant in 2004 and her second in 2017. Jane had benefitted many times from the support services at the Foundation and wanted to give back, so she became a volunteer in 2006: being a local contact and hosting meetings for other patients to attend. Since then, becoming more involved she joined the Board of Trustees in 2020 and became Chair in 2025. Knowing the support and advocacy the Foundation provides 365 days a year, in so many countries, she feels honoured to be part of the Board leading this amazing organisation.

Rob Walton is Founder and Principal of Covostra, a specialist international consultancy focused on putting humans at the heart of healthcare. With more than three decades of experience across life sciences, policy, and patient engagement, he has held senior management roles at Pfizer, Gilead Sciences, and UCB. His work is driven by a belief that better care begins with listening and building trust to meaningfully respond to the realities of people’s lives.
Mark Dailey
Mark Dailey is Managing Director at Dailey and Associates, a communications consultancy that advises on strategy, positioning and internal communications and delivers facilitation and moderation for events, as well as executive coaching and training. He holds a B.A in sociology, an M.A in journalism and an MBA and is the author of ‘A Leader’s Guide to Storytelling’ published in 2021. He is married with two children and lives in North London. He became a PBC Foundation trustee in 2025.

James O’Connor
I am delighted to become a trustee of PBC, I have spent the last 20 years working within primary care from starting as a Boots store manager to my current position of manager of a Inverurie Medical Group. Married to Lisa and father to Ethan I like to spend my spare time split between hill walking and keeping up to date with sport. Glad to say that I am always learning having competed a Law Degree in 2023. Looking forward to helping this fantasia foundation help those in need.
